We offer Self-Catering and Bed and Breakfast
accommodation in our Lovely old Farm House and
holiday cottages. Honeysuckle on our Organic farm is
cosy with that "Country Living" feel in a most
peaceful and tranquil setting. Red Lion is a luxury
Cottage high up in the hills of Derbyshire in the
Historic Village of Hognaston. If you are looking
for first class accommodation, surrounded by
peaceful/quiet countryside then Park View Farm and
cottages are the place for you to get away from the
demands of modern living!
Park View Farm has been a farm since the 1700’s and
the present house was built by Kedleston Estate in
1866 and has been in the Adams family since1955. We
have evidence of the occupation on the site of Park
View Farm in much earlier times dating back to the
‘’Old Hall’’ in the 13th Century. It has always been
farmed traditionally in the old fashioned way of
using very little pesticides and fertilizers.
Animals are allowed to spend their summers grazing
the meadows and pastures with the sun on their backs
and a friendly pat from the farmer who is boss. They
have the very best sweet smelling hay and silage to
eat, and are allowed to mature gradually as nature
intended. The massive downturn in farming has caused
so many of the small farmers like ourselves to
either grow into large factory type units or to move
out. We did not wish to lose our family home nor
leave our land and animals to be farmed more
aggressively so we made the decision to fully
convert the farm to be organic in September 2002 in
an endeavour to protect and preserve the environment
and the animals and wildlife on the farm for the
future generations who should be lucky enough to
live here.
Park View Farm is an organic farm (no fertilizers or
pesticides) with the fields containing a host of
wild flowers and clover. So, if you enjoy the
countryside you cannot find a better place to relax,
unwind and explore it.
